The Hidden Agenda of my Future

I have been told that one-day Robots will take over the world?! Is this true?

PWC predicts in an article by Forbes that indeed during; “2030, up to 30% of jobs could be automated”.

Not yet… stated Forbes.

Scary right!? I was aware of this, and in my professional development and employment module, we discussed the Global Trends that will most likely become the NEXT BIG THING!

Digitization is a big factor that needs to be discussed as that is something that impacts many. For me, going through a global pandemic would have devastated my college education if not for digitization. Two aspects; computers and the internet both have involved in terms of processes, bandwidth, 5G, etc. which has helped make my online education career a blissful and smooth experience. The future of my career looks hopeful as I want to enter the logistics department of Supply Chain and Logistics and through a short quiz done in class about whether robots will overtake my job, I found the results surprising.

The biggest eye-opener that I was blessed to be a part of and experience was the EXPO 2020. I was allowed to represent my college by being appointed as one of the 2020 Expo Champions.

During my duty as the 2020 Expo Champion, I helped market the 2020 Expo to bring awareness. Visiting many times allowed me to get a deeper look into the future of work. With this newfound inspiration and knowledge, I’m comfortable taking a step into the future. Especially in the field of Logistics as my mission is to save the planet and that is exactly where our future is going- I can’t wait!

PAUSE!

I can’t enter the future blindly, I need to bring a certain skill-set, a certain mindset towards the future. I was reading this article given by our college, at Liverpool John Moore University- “The new kind of worker every business needs”- catchy title, but so true

Two words stuck to me while reading this- NETWORK and TECHNOLOGY. Yes! The article spoke about many important facts and it’s a must-read, but I thought introspectively about these two words and it’s so true that these two words created freedom in my life.

Having the skill-set and mindset to utilize these two factors, I can do what businesses in the past wished they could have done- BY MYSELF. In the future, if I have this skill-set, I can grow tremendously in the next digital era..
